Who We Are

MICK GREGG 

Team Leader and Principal Worker 

Mick qualified in social worker in 1991. Since then he's been a CP and Court social worker for fourteen years, with another ten years in NHS adolescent mental health / substance misuse services, a Cafcass Children's Guardian,  a Team Manager and a Senior Practitioner in a UASC Team from February 2017 to August 2022. 

He has been age assessed trained since 2016 and experienced in considering legal challenges.   

He is a Practice Educator offering social work student placements.

OROBOSA

Support Worker 

Orobosa

As well as wanting to mentor young asylum seekers, she is also studying for a degree in Leicester.

 

MUSTAFA
Live In Support worker 

Mustafa is originally from Iraq and speaks Arabic. He is very keen to help young people in any way he can and especially skilled in information technology and computer use. 
He lives at the house and is here five nights a week to support oour young people from 9:30pm to 8:30am

QAMAR
Support Worker 

Qamar is originally from Somalia and speaks Somali. She is very keen to help young people, offer them care, in the role of 'big sister' or Aunt, and mentor them to help them settle and feel safe. 

JEREMY
Support Worker

Jeremy works to help our young people and has been involved for many years in similar projects to support young people claiming asylum, and also teaches English to people online across the world

GINNY
Teacher 

Ginny is a qualified teacher who has taught students in secondary, further and higher education in the UK and internationally. 

Ginny also facilitates nonviolent communication workshops.

RUTH 
Health worker 

Ruth has been a registered nurse since 1998 and can help our staff with any general questions about health issues and liaise on their behalf with GP's and other health professionals. 

(She is also Mick's wife) 

Dalenda 
Support Worker 
Dalenda speaks and teaches Arabic, in addition to volunteering at food banks and youth clubs. She travels quite a distance to support young people, driven by her passion for helping asylum seekers.

 

ALEX
Support Worker -
 Alex has just finished his degree and looking forward to working with our young people 

SAGAL
Independent Visitor 

Sagal is not a member of staff but provides an important service for us in visiting the young people regularly and ensuring that they can express any views they have (good, bad or ugly) about the care we, and the purchasing local authorities, provide so we can make changes if they are needed.
